Application Engineer

Requirements

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Supports the sales process by reviewing all new product information and confirming all paperwork is consistent prior to transferring it to the planning, quality and manufacturing teams.  This includes being responsible for the following duties:
• Creating and developing 3D models and 2D engineering print specifications.
• Reviewing the prints, recording critical to quality features and defining any product specific requirements to be measured.
• Responsible for setting up the item master for new parts in the ERP system, including completing print assessment and creating inspection requirements for new products.
• Communicates with sales reps and customers to clarify specifications, answer questions or resolve open issues.
• Must be capable of identifying discrepancies between customer requirements and company capabilities, working to proactively resolve issues before finalizing the manufacturing paperwork.
• Must be able to read and interpret blueprints and provide design for manufacturability recommendations.
• Create and maintain essential process SOPs and WI documentation. 
• Participate in daily Specials review meeting, providing technical guidance and taking the lead on resolving technical issues.
• Works with suppliers and internal purchasing to obtain competitive pricing and lead times.
• Verify supplier quotation meets print specifications.  Identify quotation exceptions and communicate exceptions with customers for resolution as part as finalizing quote.
