Operate computer numerical control (CNC) grinding machines, including infeed/thru-feed centerless grinding machines, CNC surface grinding machines. Operate secondary equipment as necessary.

Responsibilities 

  • Operate machines, achieving specifications including quality and throughput.
  • Perform ERP system transactions.
  • Perform required daily maintenance to equipment and tools.
  • Monitor, observe and listen to machine operation to detect malfunctions. 
  • Perform 1st piece and In-process inspections 
  • Record measurements per inspection plans 
  • Simultaneous to grinding operation, perform a variety of secondary operations as required ex: cleaning parts, cleaning work areas and assisting others within the department.
  • Machine materials other than metal, such as composites, plastic, and rubber.

 

Requirements

  • Experience operating grinding equipment or CNC experience
  • H.S. Diploma or equivalent. Graduate of a vocational school in manufacturing/machining or engineering discipline is a plus.  
  • 1 to 3 years’ experience in a  manufacturing environment 
  • Occasional lifting (max. 40 lbs.)
  • Ability to measure using measuring instruments such as microscope, optical comparator, micrometer, caliper, dial indicators and gauges.
