The R&D Manager will lead a team of chemists and technicians while remaining hands-on in the formulation and development of advanced adhesives for the Electronics market. This role oversees projects involving epoxies, urethanes, UV-curable systems, silicones, acrylics, and hybrid technologies, driving innovation and speed-to-market solutions. The manager will also maintain deep knowledge of market trends and the current product portfolio to guide R&D strategy and execution.

In addition to managing daily lab operations, budgets, and project timelines, the R&D Manager will collaborate cross-functionally with sales, quality, finance, and manufacturing to ensure successful product development and commercialization. This role requires strong leadership, technical expertise, and the ability to mentor and grow a high-performing R&D team.

 

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical field (Chemistry or Chemical Engineering preferred).
  • 5-8 years of relevant industry experience, with 3-5 years in a senior technical role (Sr. Chemist or higher).
  • Supervisory experience is required.
  • Experience in Epoxy chemistry required.
  • Experience in R&D, formulation, and reverse engineering preferred.
  • Strong understanding of formulation, testing, and product approval processes.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Additionally, prolonged periods of standing and working at a lab bench.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
